After living in Madison for the last 24 years, I finally found my way to Johnny Delmonico's for dinner. And what a good thing! Lisa W. was our server and she was perfection - very personable, but not overly chatty and she checked in with us in a way that was non-intrusive and well-timed.
I got the 16 oz. ribeye with a baked potato and my husband got the 14 oz. New York strip with the hash browns. We both ordered our steaks medium rare. His came out perfectly, but mine was much closer to medium as opposed to medium rare. However, the steak was tender and incredibly flavorful so I enjoyed it regardless. I tried his hash browns and WOW, they were the best I've ever had. Crispy outside and tender inside with a buttery quality yet not greasy and tons of flavor without being overly salty. So jealous! Good to know for next time. We also shared a side of the brussel sprouts with gruyere cheese & bacon. Um, yeah...........order this side and share it. It's incredible on its own or spread on a baked potato. Sweet and tender with the creamy bite of the cheese and the smoky saltiness of the bacon. It's win-win-win.
We were too full for dessert, but I had a couple Cosmopolitans that were very nice. Not quite as amazing as the ones at Lombardino's, but good all the same. We'll be back again!
