  • Don't give these folks your money. We signed up for youth soccer for our son and received an email stating that they had no coach because no parents volunteered. They call parents and try to get them to coach, I explained that I'd be happy to assist a coach, but that I wasn't able to teach because Ive never played a day of soccer in my life they offered to provide me with drills to coach anyways! And they will not provide us with a refund- only a credit for another season! They need to get volunteer coaches lines up before they charge people- this is a terrible business model. "Currently our records indicate that your child's NYS team does not have a coach due to the fact that no parent has responded to the original emails sent out Tuesday, Thursday, or volunteered at the team meeting held on Saturday. On the registration form that every parent/guardian used to register their child it states, "all coaches are parent volunteers, parents will be expected to participate in the coaching of their child's team." If you would like to volunteer your time in helping coach your child's team this season, please reply to this email with a name and your contact information. We can provide practice equipment along with suggested practice activities as resources to help with the coaching process. If a parent does not volunteer their time to coach the team, NYS would have to disband the team and place the children onto teams outside of the current area. If there are not teams with room to add additional players, then a decision would have to be made to either switch sports or receive a credit for a future season. Please understand that NYS does not refund participants on the basis of a team not having a coach. NYS has not assigned coaches to any of our teams, all of our coaches are volunteer parent(s)/guardian(s) of a child on the team."
