Went snowboarding for the first time up here and did the snow experience. I went to the bunny slope (my friends said it's too flat to learn on) and was greeted by one of the red coats, Scott W.
First, he showed / taught me the basics - how to strap in with one foot and walk around, what foot I should lead off with (regular), how to get up (which I couldn't do from my butt position so he offered an alternative way which was to flip the board around and get up from the toe side), etc. He was very understanding, patient and offered great words of encouragement. By the third run, I was feeling pretty confident in myself and had him video me down ... I went slow and took his pointers and was able to make it down without falling once.
Scott told me he thought I was ready for the other slope and it'd be better for me to learn so I went up with some friends. I fell getting off the lift, but I was able to make it all the down on my heel side without any spills.
It's pretty icy up there and it hurts like hell when you fall, but thanks to Scott W. I was able to have some successful runs for my first time. I planning on getting my own gear soon ...
This 5 star review is more for the instructors and people that work up there than the venue itself.
