| - I am a total Criss Angel nut. I love his show and I just think he's an interesting guy. Magic is kind of a silly trade, I know, but I love that Criss is willing to explain what's behind a portion of his tricks. Very transparent and I respect that.
Anyways, the Believe show was part Mindfreak, part Cirque de Soleil and it was amazing. Very sophisticated, not hokey at all, and just a pleasure to watch. Criss was his silly self during some parts of the show - joking around in his goofy accent with the live continuous shot cam and the audience - but it wasn't for the whole thing. He was actually very professional and refined for the majority, I was impressed at how seriously he took this show and his craft. I didn't expect him to be able to operate at that level and I definitely see him in a different light now. Super cool.
(Show highlights included the bunnies and poppies scene, the dove tricks, the wedding dress trick, and the deranged pseudo-Donnie Darko bunnies everywhere).
The pre-show magicians were lame and not funny/interesting at all. They start about 20 minutes before the actual show but I was able to tolerate them. After the show we went to the Mindfreak store which was also great, see my review on that!
