  • I rented an apartment from Alliance residential (symphony apartments in Chandler, AZ from November 2014 to Sept/ 2016) I had no issues with living there. I enjoyed my time there. It wasn't perfect, but far from the worst. My lease would end 09/22/16. I paid the prorated rent as scheduled for September. I was starting a new job that required me to work out of state and I would leave AZ on September 10, 2016. I didn't want to hold on to the keys and be charged additional fees for not turning in the keys on time do I handed in the keys on 9/10/2016. I ended up being charged $250 in damages for painting and carpeting and $580 for early termination of my lease. I tried to get to the bottom of this early lease termination with the manager of symphony apartments to no avail. I called and left messages with Alliance which I never got s return call. My account was then sent to a collection agency who claims they only have access to the amount owed and not the actual file and if I have issues I would have to take it up with alliance. When I called alliance I was told they no longer had to file because it was in collections. A few weeks ago I spoke with a rep who said she would look into this matter as there should not be a charge for early lease termination for moving 12 days early. I could not remember her name and called today to follow up, since I hadn't heard from her and I am called by collection often. I got a rep by the name of Maya or Mya( not sure of the spelling). Mya said I broke the lease when I moved and it didn't matter that I had paid the rent through the end of the lease date. I told her I would place a review and let everyone know how Alliance does business. I believe this is thievery and exploitation. What was their loss? I'm currently reviewing my lease agreement for how it was worded that they can charge an additional $580 for my last months rent. Maybe there are others that that share thus experience and we can possibly look into a class action suit against them. I will also be consulting an attorney for legal advice on this matter. - [ ]
