The owner of the store is very unfriendly and has no customer service hospitality. My Nigerian husband and myself went to this market in hopes of finding some food he is used to eating as he is fairly new in the USA and has had a difficult time adapting to our food in the USA. When arriving at the store a lady was sitting in the back of the store eating and there was no one around to attend new customers entering the store that may have needed assistance. 5 minutes later a man entered from what appeared to be from next door of the store with a cart of things who was very eager to assist us and get back to what he was doing. Being new customers in this store we had a few questions but when regular customers came in after us he immediately left us to attend to them first. When my husband asked a question the man & woman sitting in the back eating would answer his questions with assurance that they provided food for every African store in Arizona with attitude. When the owner came into the store the lady in the back was eager to rush us to ask the owner questions instead of her. As we went towards the front of the store where the owner was there was a little old lady counting money from a blue bag with her head down who never looked up at us one time nor did she have the hospitality to greet us to her market. As we paid for our belongings that we did anticipate to buy, she walked out of the store barking orders to the man that worked there, went out of the store brushing against us, and did not even say excuse me let alone answer any questions. She re-entered the store again as my husband was still asking questions to the man counting up our food items and she still did not speak. As a matter of fact, the man insisted on moving our basket saying the lady was coming back in like she was a queen or something and we had to prepare for the queen. As much as I have traveled around the world and visited many different cultures and religions, I have never in my life seen such rudeness or felt the abrupt emotions I felt leaving this store. I researched bringing my husband to this market for 2 months prior to taking him there and I will never step foot in there again. I have worked in Customer service for 28 years and have never treated anyone the way we where disregarded and treated yesterday. Owning a business is more then just counting the money you make from peoples business, it is having hospitality, customer service orientation, and compassion to please your customers. Should the health department go into your store, you would probably be closed down for the freezer burned fish and frozen foods you are selling! word of advise, treat others as you would want to be treated as us Americans are kind and friendly as we care about each customer as should you! I will continue to make that long drive to Tempe or Chandler to buy my husbands foods from the friendly African markets as the ladies there are kind and hospitable to each customer that comes in their store.
