  • Phoenix, Arizona! Camelback Mountain! Cholla Trail! It's hard to talk about this mountain without talking about the trail you did but I'm going to do it while keeping this review different from the Cholla Trail review. Before heading to Phoenix, everything I read said that Camelback was a must. I assumed desert and heat. Once seeing Camelback in the middle of a few neighborhoods, I started to wonder... how do you even get up that mountain?! The Answer: There are two trails. One being the Cholla Trail. Apparently, the Cholla Trail is the easier of the two trails! I'm going to give a more in-depth review of the trail and terrain over on the Cholla Trail Yelp page. For this page, I just wanted to give a rundown of Camelback. While hiking up this mountain, it doesn't take you long to realize why it's called Camelback. You climb followed by moments of downhill walking followed by more climbing. Further, into the trail, you start to ask yourself, Why do camels have so many humps?! The important thing to remember about this mountain is that the rewarding view at the top is worth everything. You also should bring water along. Plenty of water. At the top, we did enjoy a snack. There was also a drone that flew by before taking off again. One last thing to say to people that live in Arizona: I know you have plenty of hiking there. It's a hiking paradise. If you love this mountain, you should make the trip over to Albuquerque to La Luz Trail. It's worth your time. Stay tuned for Cholla Trail Review.
