  • this is my second time here and i love it every time. there is SO MUCH to look at, read, listen to. you could literally spend two whole days here to take it all in. the first time i went was about ten years ago, so lots of things have changed. but there are still the classic exhibits that i remember as well. i don't even think i could pick my favorite exhibit. and we definitely did not have enough time to really experience every one. one of the museum employees actually stopped us at one point to point out one of the lesser known artists (a songwriter, specifically) that we may have (and we did) overlook. he took the time to tell us about the artist and suggest that we really take note of the people we've never heard of because we might just find a new great singer, songwriter, guitarist, whatever! i thought that was pretty cool. i have only 2 complaints about the place. and the positives outweigh the negatives enough that i still think it deserved 5 stars. first of all: the giftshop. their selection of books (memoirs by artists mostly) is pretty impressive, but other than that, most of the gifts are pretty cheesy and WAY overpriced. secondly: the lack of representation for certain artists. the beatles were clearly represented, but i have to say, i expected more artifacts. and i was excited to see some led zeppelin displays since they were only recently inducted. but i didn't see a single thing! if you're a music fan (and there's a little for everyone, not just rock n roll) or a history buff, you definitely need to check it out!
