  • Bad service. I just went to HAPPY HOUR at Paul Martins with a friend. I am allergic to quite a few things so before we ordered, I gave the waitress a card that listed my allergies and she said she would take it back to the kitchen. I said ok as I pointed to the happy hour menu and mentioned that any thing on there would be good. They already have a few gluten free options, so I figured they could make some substitutions on one of the hh appetizers like they had in the past. When she came back she said they could do salmon and cauliflower to which I asked if that was an entree and then replied that I had a late lunch that was salmon and that I wasn't really that hungry and would prefer an appetizer. So she suggested seared ahi tuna. I asked if it was an entrĂ©e and she said that that was a salad. So I said yes that sounds good- I figure a small appetizer salad with some ahi tuna. No. A $28 salad. I clearly came in for happy hour and told her I wasn't that hungry and left with a bill over $40. I suppose I should have asked how much it was, but I never have had a problem like this in the past. Also, when I mentioned it to her, she argued with me about it. The salad was good, but not really a "salad" and she should not have only suggested very expensive meals. I have had happy hour appetizers that are free from all of my allergies before. The meal tasted great though, props to the chefs!
