I have been looking for a Ramen place in Phoenix, and was driving by and thought I would give this place a try.
Well, it was worth a shot.
To start, this is a walk-up and order restaurant, not wait-staffed. Ok. No big deal.
I asked what the house special was and they suggested:
Tonkotsu Ramen
Rich pork flavored broth.
Original Toppings
Fresh spinach Sprouts Scallions Carrots
Traditional Toppings
Men-ma Bamboo shoots Nori Naruto Scallions
The broth was just ho-hum. I added some soy and sriacha to spice it up, but still, nothing great about it. Just average.
Noodles - fresh straight from a bag, not made here.
Toppings - just sad and boring. No egg. I haven't ever had carrots or spinach on Ramen before.. but these are just bland and sad.
What I couldn't get over was how dirty the floors were. I get they are travertine and all the dirt is in the imperfections, but the baseboards, floors, everything is just really dirty and dingy. Nope. Won't be going back.
