| - I stayed here about Mid-June 2015 for 3 days and 2 nights with a party of 5 sharing one room.
The mountain tops are not for everyone. It's very likely to get altitude sickness, so travel here at your own risk!
My lodging experience here went very well for the most part. The lodges are easy to navigate through and the exterior of the establishment is very clean. The janitors are hard at work here.
Despite the cleanliness of the exterior, the interior does not look bad at all! The bed arrangements are nice and the fireplace is very convenient. In addition to a good looking interior and a large shower/Jacuzzi, the view from the balcony is absolutely stunning; a view of nature at its finest! However, during my stay, the fireplace would not work properly for a few hours, so we were cold for the most part until it was fixed during the morning. Also, there we found many moths in the cabin as we were settling in at night. The moths tended to fly around in the bathroom area. They were very pesky and we killed 5-10 every night. Despite managing to deal with the moth problem, it was still very gross.
Mt. Charleston Lodge Cabins are one of the very few options to pick from when staying at Mt. Charleston. For the price it's worth, the experience of the view, the warmth, and the authentic cabin experience definitely make the stay worth it.
