I found Jayrua Salon on Instagram. I booked and appointment with Wesley because the pictures she posted on her account looked amazing. From the start I felt like I was in the hands of an amateur. She was very nice, but lacked confidence, and it didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I showed her a picture of what I wanted- highlights to make my hair a lighter blonde. I ended up with a dark ashy ombre look. The worst part came when she started drying my hair... I realized that about 3 inches were fried off the bottom.
I expressed that I didn't like the color and asked if I could come back the next day to get it fixed. She said she was busy, but I could call and book with someone else. I would have paid for another appointment because I was so desperate to get my color back. I ended up going to Square salon the day after to fix my hair.
Long story short, I left the salon absolutely hating my hair. Wesley definitely has talent when creating the ombre look, but lacks skill in other areas. Weather she was being careless, or is just unexperienced, I ended up with the worst salon experience I have ever had.
It was a pretty awkward appointment, and It was obvious that I wasn't happy with what she did. I understand that stylists have off days, but at the very least don't let your clients leave with a style that they hate. Thats just bad business.
