rev:text	I found the Priory through Expedia after not being able to find a reasonably priced hotel in the downtown area. It is a lovely old German Catholic church that was converted to a B&B 21 years ago. The furniture and interior were beautiful and quaint and cozy. The staff was really nice and helpful. They called me a cab and gave me a good dinner reco (a new restaurant in the neighborhood- Nicki's Thai Kitchen). The hotel also has a free shuttle into downtown during the daytime, which came in handy. They also served complimentary wine and breakfast for guests. A few of the drawbacks: The bathroom was a little old and small and I think could use a rehab, but it was definitely clean and pleasant. I was a little surprised that they called me a cab service that charged me $8 to drive 5 blocks (the cab driver mentioned that he and the woman at the front desk were friends, so it made sense. He was really nice and helpful, so it wasn't that big of a deal). Also, I found out from the same helpful cab driver that the hotel was in a neighborhood that isn't very safe. It actually sits pretty close to the Commons- one of Pittsburgh's projects. Safety was okay for me, as I was only there one night and took cabs to where I needed to be, but based on what I heard, it's definitely not safe to walk around the area after dark and may be a factor for consideration, especially for women traveling on their own. All in all, this was a very nice experience. I really appreciate the fact that there are unique and historic types of lodging like the Priory in American cities- as they are so much more charming than major chains. I'd stay there again the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.
