Voted the 4th best restaurant in Canada for 2017 I made a stop at Le Vin Papillon. It's a tapas menu so I came here as my second "afternoon snack." I had a plate of raw beef, cucumber, cilantro, and Greek yogurt. While I'm not a fan of cilantro, somehow this dish was so beautifully put together that the flavours just worked and you could tell it was high quality beef. I also ordered the famous smoked carrot eclair and my.god. this was one of the most unique things I have ever tasted! The smoked carrot almost tasted like smoked salmon/ham and was cooked to the perfect texture. While I believe the carrot is suppose to be the main attraction of the dish, the eclair REALLY blew me away. It's extremely had to find a good eclair and this one was lightly crispy on the outside and deliciously moist on the inside. Took me right back to my favourite ones in Paris. I can only imagine what a delicious dessert eclair Le Vin Papillon would make!
