First of all I want to make it very clear that this place is an excellent place to work out and you will never leave wishing you had given it more as they will push you. The circuits are challenging and fast paced. I already feel like I'm in better shape after 3 classes and know 100% that I would only get better if i continue here. The members here are all motivated and in great shape so they are definitely doing something right. They also have a decent number of male members which is rare for boot amps.
But why 3 stars you ask? It's been really difficult for me to balance my absolute love and enjoyment of the workouts with the experience I had in the fit factory environment with the coaches.
I've gone 4 classes so far back to back and mostly had them with Imran. He really pushes you and I feel it's within reason. He doesn't "yell" but will call you out also within reason nothing too embarrassing. His work outs are fantastic and challenging to get through some times but he walks around pushing you which I like.
Today I decided to go to Geoff's class (would be my first with him) and realized right off the bat he was a bit more serious. A bit too serious for me but to each their own. He'll push you a little harder but not within reason in my books. He isn't mean about it so everyone saying they yell at you - not that bad in my opinion. Geoff jumps right into his circuits explains everything too quickly and likes to do his reps in reps of 15-10-5. So, if it's your first class you don't have a prayer in understanding what's going on. Want to rely on the person you partnered up with? Forget about that too because the 9:30 class was filled with serious ladies who were really competitive and hella focused about the job the came to do so you just gotta try to keep up. While you are trying to keep and God forbid injure yourself, be sure to let the coach know. I was to afraid. Geoff really did not give us a breathing moment and if I had one I'd rather be drinking water. Hurt my traps and decided 30 mins in that I'm going to stop and just get ready for work. I hopped over to tell him only to be reprimanded. "Classes are 1 hr not 30 mins" - but I have to go to work - "well you should schedule your time accordingly" - true but I've also hurt myself - "well you need to tell me" ummm yeah except I didn't have the opportunity nor did I feel like I wanted to as I was intimidated. In a nutshell I felt like if I disclosed my injury I would be shamed as a weak sauce and ordered to do 50 push-ups as punishment. I really did feel like that would have been a very plausible outcome after working out in Geoff's class. Not sure if I'll come back for his classes. I remember being told when I signed up that I can leave class any time I felt it was too much - not true as proven by me today.
Haven't been to Roshanda's so no comment on that.
Other downfalls: no water fountain and limitation on when we can drink our waters.
Positives that impressed me was front desk receptionist, facility, on point with tech/sign up/ etc, level of intensity to whoop your booty into shape, great shower and change room facility. Some have said its small but I don't think so. It's decent and in fact bigger and better than most boot camps I've been too. Some don't even have a shower. Overall the place operates as a well oiled machine. This place has a good group of serious members who will motivate you to work harder. I recommend the 6:15 group who are equal parts nice and serious with Imran of course unless you are a glutton for something a tad more serious which u can't get out off - go with Geoff.
