  • Worst experience of my life. I am very picky & have visited a ton of salons in the Las Vegas Valley. The reviews made me think this place would be similar to my most recent favorite salon (only reason I was searching for a new one was because they have limited hours). This was by far the worst. So bad, I feel compelled to write my review. I called the night before the make an appointment. I love as told $50 for a gel manicure & regular pedicure. This was $5 more than the sign I saw each day on my way to work. Knowing there are often the exceptions to advertised prices and $50 being more than reasonable, I scheduled an appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted pleasantly, but rushed to select my polish. The physical set up of the salon is gorgeous. Very nice, modern, & clean. My pedicure was less than relaxing. The tech made little effort to do more than just bathe my feet. I was not given an option to adjust my chair as she controlled it. This left me in an incredibly uncomfortable position. Another tech came over & started my gel manicure. I confirmed the price of $50 because I was considering upgrading my pedicure or adding an eyebrow wax if it would fit in my budget. I was told $55. I explained that the evening before I was told $50. The tech doing my manicure said it was because Sometimes people add on. I asked what I had added on. She said some people add rockstar. I asked what that was and I am still unclear. I then confirmed the 20% off coupon. I was told the price was already 20% off. Again, this makes no sense to me. I had to push to get the price I was quoted and gave up on the 20% off since it was a reasonable price anyway. They continued to try to explain- I was told the same services cost 3 different prices. I was shown a print out that had different (higher) prices. I suppose that this was an effort to make me think I was getting a deal. At this point, I just wanted out. My relaxing morning had been ruined. The tech doing my pedicure had left a lot of dead skin & cuticles on one of my big toes. I asked her to get it & she seemed confused until the tech doing my nails showed her. That's when I realized my nails had been filed very short & I had not washed my hands yet & there was now dirt stuck there. I asked for the tool & I removed it myself. This is when I decided I was done. And this is when it gets worse. Way worse. I told the tech I just wanted to pay & leave and I gave her my card. That is when another customer emerged from the facial room and accosted me about how I ruined her facial. She continued to be verbally abusive & rude. She accused me of trying to get services for free & mocked my attempt to use a yelp coupon, as if my coupon use made me less of a person. The final straw was when she accused me of being racist. Really?! My desire to have a relaxing mani-pedi and pay the advertised & quoted price makes me a racist. Hmmm... What a world we live in... The owner/manager refused to accept payment. I think this makes me more angry than anything. I explained multiple times that I had no desire to not pay for services I received, especially because I was there for over an hour. My dissatisfaction would be reflected in a 15% tip rather than the 25% I normally give when I am happy. What an awful morning! I got in my car & drive less than a block to Gel Nails Spa where I received an excellent Gel Polish for the price I was quoted. The gentleman doing my nails even threw in a cuticle trim because THEY STILL HAD NOT BEEN TRIMMED even though the tech at Sparkle was ready to polish!
