I dined here two Fridays ago for dinner. We had high hopes for the tasting menu since 1) this restaurant is at the Bellagio & 2) we have dined at the SF Michael Mina location. No comparison. The menu included:
-Tuna Tartare: ancho chile, sesame oil, pine nuts, mint
-Lobster Pot Pie: winter vegetables, truffle-lobster cream
-American Kobe Steak: porcini -butter poached, pommes fondant
-5 Desserts (root beer float/ assorted cookies/ etc)
-Wine Pairing
My recommendation would be to go for the lobster pot pie. That was a phenominal dish.
Completely skip the American kobe steak. It was over cooked, dry, tough and I could literally hear myself sawing through the meat with my knife. Our entire table couldn't believe that they were serving this dish. It definitely gives American kobe a bad name. One of the worst steaks I have ever eaten.
