  • I've stayed at Caesars Palace a few times, and at other resorts on the strip, while I enjoy Caesars for its history and place in Las Vegas (and its amenities, like location on the strip and the massive pool area), this was a very, very disappointing visit. After checking in, we took the mile and half walk to our room. What's that??? A mile and a half walk to your room? Yes, this is a large resort, but more to the point, the designers of it should have thought more about the location of the elevators in the towers! They also should rethink charging people for coffee in the room. That's right, you'll pay for the Keurig cups if you want coffee in the room. Free coffee in a room is like a hotel standard, isn't it? (Notice I said hotel, not motel). It's still free to use the iron. At any rate, after refreshing in the room which overlooked the pools (great view - we did however have to request the view and upgrade). We headed down to the casino. After another mile and half walk back through long empty corridors we arrived in the lobby and casino area. It's Caesars 50th Anniversary but you couldn't tell that in the lobby, unless you happen to gander the tiny sash tossed across the chest of the Caesar statue at the front door...My point being, other hotels and casinos on the strip - Paris, Aria, Wynn, Bellagio - make considerable effort to bring in decorations and dress up their lobbies - and for just regular seasonal events (I noticed, Halloween for example). Would it kill you Harrah's (owners of Caesar) to spend a few grand on a nice floral arrangement for the lobby to celebrate your 50th? Perhaps a giant birthday cake or a display of the many entertainers that have graced your halls...But no, your marketing department deemed it much more suitable to hang a giant vinyl banner touting a hashtag and place a mall-level fiberglass horse and chariot (for selfies or photos) off to the side of the entrance. In the casino we found the experience no better, we played Blackjack for an hour before any table service - and asked the pit boss twice to request a server...But anytime during our three day stay, the same issue, getting a drink in the casino took considerable effort, even when playing any table games for any length of time. We had to either ask a manager to send over a server (and then waiting for 20-30 minutes for her to show) or wait an hour for one to come around. Casino was clean and common areas were also well maintained, in fact the housekeeping staff was very good. Requests for extra towels or other items were delivered promptly and with a smile. I would also like to call out the exceptional service and demeanor of a dealer named Jim, this older gentlemen dealt Blackjack and has worked at Caesars for over 30 years. He was both friendly (helping with gaming tips) and incredibly informative, providing great history lessons on Las Vegas and the casinos while we played. Finally, food here was average at best. We ate at Rao's one night - extremely disappointed, and at Gordon Ramsey's Pub & Grill another afternoon. Neither the meal or experience were at all notable or recommendable. We also had a basket of fries at the pool - which took asking the runner where the fries were after about 45 minutes - fries showed up an hour after we ordered them. At least they were hot. Swim up Blackjack? Neat concept, but dealers were not friendly or welcoming. Unless we were to get an extremely good deal, we would not stay at this resort again, as there are many, many other and better options on the strip. Oh, and one last item. As I mentioned, as a long time Vegas visitor and I am well aware of the "working girls" that roam the area. Caesars seemed to be overrun with them (WAY more so than other casinos we visited in the evenings). To the point, I and another male in our party were engaged by them, not once, not twice, but three times on property (sports bar, casino and walking back to the room). I have never had that experience in my 30 plus years of coming to this town (being blatantly propositioned like this). We of course refused their offers, because of wives, and morals. But if you are looking for "who-ors" this is the place to find them.
