Bacchanal is slowly suffering from the usual buffet decline - it was absolutely in it's own league when it first opened but now they're slowly taking things off the menu or substituting things with cheaper versions/items/ingredients. On top of that, the price keeps going up sitting at about $70 (tax & tip included) per person for a weekend dinner. Don't get me wrong, the food and selection is still good and it is one of the best buffets on the strip but it's getting harder to justify coming here.
Definitely get here as early as possible as the wait time can easily balloon to 3+ hours especially on weekends. They have waitlist kiosks (like Disney's FastPass) so make sure to sign-in about 3 hours prior to your desired eating time - For example if you want to eat around 6 pm, check-in around 3 pm...yea it's that crazy. But if you just can't stand to wait or you got money to wipe your butt with, you can pay an extra $35 per person to skip the line entirely.
My only other tip is to take your time and enjoy everything they have to offer. Maybe even consider dropping that extra $35 to skip the line and write it off as a gambling loss...at least you get something in return. It was fortuitous for me that I rolled with good company that help pass the wait time and frustration so maybe try that since it's cheaper and more interesting. Enjoy!
