| - One of my best friends is getting married in July and I am privileged to be one of her bridesmaids. Yesterday, after months of putting it off, we decided to bite the bullet and start looking for "the dress". She is a laid back bride looking for a simple dress for an outdoor wedding, and previous dress-hunting trips had left her feeling overwhelmed and frustrated as associates pushed their own taste on her. We did not make any appointments yesterday because she literally just wanted to LOOK at some dresses so she could get an idea of which styles to ask for when the time came to make the dreaded, but seemingly inevitable appointment. It turns out LOOKING proved to be out of the question and after visiting a few shops, she was feeling really sad and sick of the whole process. No one had made the effort to listen to her or make her feel special and she hadn't seen ANY dresses. She was driving me home when I remembered seeing this place on Yelp and suggested as a last, desperate attempt that we check it out.
When we walked in, the shop appeared to be clean and organized, with very few patrons. The bride-to-be tentatively started browsing racks, expecting to get the boot any moment, but the boot never came. She started to get excited as she found dress after dress that showed promise. While it is a small shop, the owner has great taste and the dresses in stock are beautiful and well-priced (most under $1000)! I asked the woman working if my friend might be able to try on a dress or two despite not having an appointment, and she happily obliged, setting us up immediately in a change room.
My friend must've tried on 10 dresses in total, all the while, the sales associate was offering great advice, honest opinions, and finding us more dresses that not only matched my friends taste, but flattered her body. It must've been dress 5 or 6 when we all knew right away...we had found THE dress. The sales woman even did a quick, easy alteration for us on the spot at no extra charge. Best of all, this dress was under $600!!
My friend has expressed to me that she wanted nothing more than to walk into a shop, try on a dress, and KNOW it was THE dress and that she felt beautiful in it. She wanted the freedom to look at dresses on her own to decide which styles appealed to her, and she wanted honesty, not a sales pitch. After visiting the first couple of shops, it really seemed like this was going to be an impossibility and she was feeling sick at the thought of moving forwards with the process.
This shop gave her everything she wanted and more. Beautiful and affordable dresses, friendly, helpful staff, and a relaxed, FUN experience. Most importantly, she walked in feeling discouraged and walked out excited with a wedding dress!! We will be going back from the bridesmaid dresses and recommend this shop to all future brides!
