  • I'm going to age myself with this review but back in the late 90s early 2000 this was the place to be! The Merc bar you could always count on to have lots of things to see great cocktails and maybe meet a lifetime friend. Recently I stopped in and barely recognized the place. People come and go that is a fact and the crowd that is there now is quite different than the crowd it used to be. Not necessarily bad just different. Really didn't feel as warm as it used to. Overall I would say if you're in the area and you're looking for a cocktail and you would just like a nice fancy place to stop into for a moment this is your place. If you're looking for somewhere to mingle with people get to know people better and maybe make some friends this may not be your place. The decor is really nice and always has been kind of dark lots of glass chrome and tinkling of glasses the bartenders look like they're really working hard.
