| - The server and staff was very accommodating and attentive. This is my third try as I have not wanted to wait an hour just to eat here. So it's after lunch hour and the crowd is gone, the pace slow and relaxing. I'm looking forward to a great experience and delicious food!
For appetizers it was lump crab and spinach, it was tasty but no crab flavor, then I got a side of gumbo. Gumbo as I remembered it living in Louisiana and how I learned to make it was usually in a thick broth, what I got was basically a wet salty soup, so salty I stopped after the first spoonful.
Moving on, my main course arrived, I ordered the lunch combo of blacken catfish on a bed of dirty rice and shrimp (4 pieces) creole over white rice. Again it was so salty I could not eat the catfish, my white rice along with anything supposing to resemble a vegetable was soggy. I ate 10% of what I ordered, the rest was thrown away.
Perhaps this is the after lunch crowd quality of left over or watered down food, I'm not sure. What I am sure of, is that I will not return for the quality of food for the price point was not present. I would not return there even if they offered me my next meal at no charge.
Also surprising my server did not question the amount of food left on the plates, especially after I mentioned how salty the food was. I should have requested a refund, the other party with me also complained of the food and stopped eating citing an upset stomach. I suppose if I had an adult beverage I may have tolerated the feasting of the horrible food... good thing I do not drink.
