It doesn't seem like anyone thinks this places prices are a bit high for meat. The staff is friendly. The quality is very high. The hours are convenient. The place is clean. It's overall a great butcher but the prices are fairly high. I got a dozen free range eggs, a package of 4 small weiss sausage and a pound of bacon and it cost me $30. All of it was very good but it does cost a pretty penny. I am a firm believer that around five dollars is a fair price for a pound of bacon. Fine, if you want advertise it as organic, thick-cut and all the way from Perth, ON. That doesn't really make it worth $8.99 a pound does it? I enjoy a deluxe option every now and again but it's nice to have a butcher that carry's a baseline option.
It is good marketing to offer a high cost option with a lower priced option that is still a higher end product. Hey, I'll pay $6.99 for bacon if I'm bringing home the turkey too.
It just seems like they only carry high cost items to appear gourmet. Let's not make a mountain of a mole hill. This is a low ball review to even out the mean. I still will be giving them my business. Here's my two cents.
