The guy who showed us cars was great in every way. By design of the dealership we were penned up like sheep and made to wait for nearly an hour until an accounting type handled the offer. It was $2,000 or about 10% over other prices nearby. How did we know that? We sat there for nearly an hour unattended to and spent the inordinate waiting time looking up other dealer prices on our smartphones. They also required us to sign a ridiculous blank document before he headed to the back room that said if terms were agreeable we would buy a car today--insulting to say the least and meaningless since they didn't list any terms on said doc and there was no price yet. Seems to me if your salesman of 12 years tells you we are serious buyers, then present your best offer based on his judgement. Since the offer sheet said "no haggle price", we left never to return. Update: The next day we received a call from our trusted salesman, who we loved, but was the unfortunate pivot man in the Dealer's circle jerk--his news: the "no haggle" price was lowered by $2,000 overnight. We beat that deal at Hendrick in Concord in about 20 minutes. Drove home with a new car less than 24 hrs after we started with these hagglers. Saved a little more than $2k at Hendrick--dealer prep fee also lower. Lost a nice Saturday evening we'll never get back and had to shop on Sunday in Concord due to a rigid process and lack of faith in a great salesman.
