| - We heard about Gateway Animal Clinic from a friend who recommended them highly. At the time, we had been using a vet that was expensive but mediocre at best. One of our dogs has some complicated medical issues and was dealing with new symptoms, so we needed to find a better vet quickly.
Gateway is a walk-in clinic, so we didn't have to wait a week or two for an appointment. We took him in on a Saturday afternoon. Looking back, we probably should've realized that Saturday afternoon is when most people are able to take their animals to the vet. Let's just say it was a bit chaotic - long wait, waiting room full, etc.
When we were finally called to the back, I was impressed with the level of care we received. Everyone we encountered - from the front desk to the medical staff - was friendly, professional, and very clearly cared for animals.
The veterinarian we saw was kind and knowledgeable. She was heading out of town the following day but still wanted to make sure the meds worked, asked us to call and give her an update the afternoon before she left. When she said that what she recommended for our dog was what she would do for hers, I believed her. I was so relieved to finally walk away feeling confident that our dog was in good hands.
We have now been taking both of our dogs to Gateway Animal Clinic for a few months. Their fees are so much lower than the other local veterinarian we had been seeing that we are able to provide all of the care they need - care we had struggled to afford before. We avoid Saturdays and typically experience a reasonably short wait.
We love Gateway and tell everyone about them. Walk-in clinics are rare... walk-in clinics with weekend/evening hours and low fees? Even rarer. Gateway has all of this and a staff that is both competent and caring. Maybe they're not the best for everyone, but they're the best for our family.
