| - My girlfriend and I had tickets to see Wicked recently, and I was pretty dubious from the start. For one, I'm not a big musical guy. Second, I was pretty leery about going to a venue that was a)in Charlotte and b) not in uptown Charlotte. Basically, I had no idea what to expect going in.
I was pretty impressed, all things considered. I mean, this isn't the Metropolitan Opera House, but it isn't some mom and pop stage, either. It's huge and has lots of seats and a balcony, so you actually get a real theater-going experience. But it's pretty bare-bones: it's not decorated impressively, the seats aren't particularly comfortable, and lacks a certain elegance that you'd expect at a nicer, more upscale venue. But the sound system was great, the orchestra pit was functional, and the show that was put on was actually pretty awesome. We'll definitely be back for future shows.
