From low income people in Birdtown to gleuten-free, boat shoe yuppies on the West End, Lakewood is a melting pot for sure. There are bars and restaurants to suit any kind of people. From 16 dollar grilled cheese at Melt and wine bars to places with .40 wings and 36oz draught beers. Lakewood has it all. Its great people watching. Only place where some kid who still thinks its 1993 and listens to Skinny Puppy will pay 7.00 for a Founders breakfast stout and Thad (who has more money than God) will chug 16 Coors Lights at the same bar. Hell, even the cops will pull people over for not using a turn signal at 2am but not use one when pulling out of headquarters on Detroit. Hypocrisy is a sombitch, no? All-in-all its a great place to raise kids. Great parks and the library is killer. But the crowning achievement is the Lido is walking distance...
