The billing problems have continued since my last review, to the point where I will not use Shima if I have any other option.
Shima doesn't use any modern billing technology. They manually took my credit card number over the phone and later claimed it was rejected. Their drivers don't have credit card scanners. Shima doesn't have a Paypal account. Their website doesn't take credit cards. Then they sent a bill to the address where I was picked up. I don't live there!
I had to call the woman who handles their billing multiple times and deal with her saying weird things like, "My brain isn't working today." Who says that? What kind of business employs people who speak like that to customers? Meanwhile, her dog was barking in the background, making it difficult to communicate. Her yelling at the dog didn't help matters.
I finally mailed them a check and they took two weeks to cash it.
This wasn't a one time mistake. I have been charged for other people's rides, have had other people charged for mine, been double charged for driver tips, and have had this same credit card problem repeatedly. My credit card has never been rejected anywhere else. I even called my credit card company and asked them to accept any charge from Shima. Shima still got it wrong.
And their online reservation system results in cryptic emails that don't include an estimate of the cost of the ride you are booking.
Since I wrote my first review, Lake County is now served by Uber and Lyft, which don't have these billing problems.
