| - I was very disappointed with this place. Even though it was not at all busy at lunchtime, no one approached our table for at least 15 minutes. The young man who seated us was standing around doing nothing for this whole time. After about 20 minutes, the same young man came to our table and took our drink order. We thought maybe he was just helping out the server since we couldn't figure out why he would just be standing there for so long and not even come over. This is, after all, a tiny restaurant with about 6 tables, so it was obvious to us how much he was not interested in taking care of the table. We then sat around for another 20 minutes until we got any food. My kids' food came, and mine never showed up, which the server never even said anything about. When I called him over and asked him if mine was coming, we asked again what I ordered, and I watched him ring it up right in front of me. I asked him if he forgot to order it, and he denied that, but said they were "looking for a quail's egg" to put on top of it. My meal wasn't supposed to come with that. I asked for a few forks for the kids, and they never came, even while our server stood around again doing absolutely nothing. I had to go back to the sushi bar to track down forks, and that process was even difficult.
Really, we are not picky and all our server had to do was honestly just say he forgot. I was a server for many years, and a little honesty and a small apology for the terrible service would have made everything ok in my eyes. Instead, after we had all eaten, and were waiting for the check, he brought the edamame he also apparently forgot to order. By this time, the restaurant was dead. The bill was WAY too high for what we got ($100 for a pretty small amount of food). The quality of the food was ok, not great, or particularly fresh, but not terrible. It was definitely not worth the price, and it makes me cringe to think how much I spent on such an overall poor experience. The service was TERRIBLE, and it would have been obvious to any other employee/owner of the restaurant who cared enough to notice what kind of service his/her customers were getting.
