| - I went to this urgent care as a case of strep throat was coming on. I have huge tonsils and have gotten strep throat regularly for my entire life, so... I know when I'm getting it and when I have it. When I went there was a bit of a line, but I didn't wait more than 45 mins or so. Once I was in the room, the nurse who was helping me was very sweet and polite, and I really liked her. The doctor was okay. He did a rapid strep test that came back negative. (Which fyi, it always does. I've been in the ER hooked up to an IV throat practically closed with my swollen tonsils, and the rapid test still came back negative.) So anyway, because it came back negative, and the doc didn't really care about the fact that I couldn't swallow anything, he told me to take some ibuprofen. Ibuprofen... fantastic.
So in short, it was a waste of time, and I had to go somewhere else to get a prescription for Z Pack to stop the strep throat from fully coming on.
