  • I took my mother here on a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. The place seemed to be about half full. It's very stylish and the decor isn't cramped. Relaxing, but vibrant. We grabbed a table outside as it was close to the entrance because my Mom can't walk far. Our bullish choice may have been an inconvenient location for the waitstaff. The waitress was friendly and smart but we saw her very infrequently. Not sure, but she may have been a manager picking up slack. She told us what was especially popular on the menu, but we didn't take any of her recommendations. In hindsight, I think she was steering us toward the tastier items on the menu and away from the so-so items. She mentioned that they had fresh baked bread and we told her that would be great, but it never arrived and we didn't remind her. She seemed like she was playing catch-up on those occasions when we did see her. Kindly, she did make change for a dollar as the local parking meters there only take coins and we knew right off the bat they weren't going to be able to serve us our meal within an hour. We got the coconut shrimp appetizer and it was good, but not close to the best in town. Not the largest shrimp either. One of the four was much smaller than the others. The entrees took a long time. My Mom ordered a burger and for her taste, the bun was far too soggy. It was almost wet. She would have liked it to have been toasted. I can't see how that could have been eaten without silverware. We had to ask for salt, pepper and mustard as there wasn't any available on the table. Those items came quickly though. The french fries were kind of airy and relatively free of grease. I ordered the blackberry baby back ribs and they were okay, but nothing I would order twice. It was only a half rack, which was fine, but I think the item cost about $19, which for my experience, normally gets you a full rack. There were a few birds in the area begging for food and the people seated next to us fed them a full roll on the floor near our table. We could have done without the lengthy floor show that ensued, but that's hardly the restaurant's fault. Very clean restaurant from what I could see and very nice flatware as well. Nice people.
