  • I have been going to this doctor's office for about 15 years and I feel comfortable with Dr. Mickus and the PAs who have seen me over the years. I also use Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy as it is less expensive for me to do a 90 day supply of meds than a monthly prescription. Here's what has happened: Last Sunday, I sorted my meds in my little pill box and realized that I'm getting low on meds. I call Cigna to refill (because it's the weekend and they are always so nice and easy to work with). They tell me that they need to contact the doctor's office to get a new Rx, which is "no problem at all", "they do it all the time". She sends the request while I'm on the phone, I thank her, and we hang up. I let it go feeling confident that I've done my part, everything is good and I'll be receiving my meds in the mail soon. The following weekend comes and the sorting begins and I suddenly realize that I haven't received those meds and I only have a couple pills left! I call Cigna and they inform me that EVPCP never responded to their electronic request! I remember something like this happening before and I tell Cigna this. They want to help me out so they are going to send a manual fax to the office because I tell them that I don't think they accept electronic requests, although this seems crazy in this day and age. I know I have to call the office on Monday during my work day to get this figured out and make sure they received the request now. It's Monday morning now and I just got off the phone with the EVPCP office. They say they haven't received any requests and that I should always call them directly. I explain that I don't understand why they don't receive these requests. The office and Cigna should both be able to make requests on the patient's behalf! They do almost everywhere else! I tell them that Cigna suggests that their office should call them to update their preferences so that from now on Cigna will only request the way that works best for them. I couldn't get the whole sentence out before the woman laughed and said something to the effect of "we don't do that". So now, while on the phone with the EVPCP lady, I had to order a 30 day supply from my local pharmacy (just so I can get some pills asap) because there is no way I'd get Cigna's pills in time because a whole week has been wasted. And I also ordered the 90 day supply to be taken care of through Cigna. The EVPCP woman seemed irritated that she had to order the meds from two different locations. It's like, come on!, I wouldn't be doing this at all if you received the first requests to begin with last week! Anyway, this is totally a first world problem and I get that. I really don't want to leave this office, but am just SO frustrated over this one issue!
