  • I've finally tried Ike's & I agree with the hype! I'm definitely a fan! I have been eyeing this place for quite a while but am 1) hardly in this area 2) if I am in this vicinity, it's hard to steer the BF away from Cheba Hut...but finally, I found myself driving up Alma School yesterday, BF-less, scoping out a place to grab lunch & decided on Ike's. Upon first glance, I was in a bit of sticker shock with their sandwiches in the $10 price range. But since I was already inside the store, they already had my complete buy in. The menu is very extensive which I liked because I love given variety. But since this is my first visit I thought I'd start with a simpler sandwich and opt to be daring on my next trip (if there is a next trip). I went with the Bella on Dutch Crunch Bread - Yelp's review highlights helped me decide. Although the gentlemen behind the register was very helpful with suggestions. While waiting, I heard a man at a nearby table ask one of the ladies to wrap up his other half of the sandwich to go because it was too large and he couldn't finish it. Okay, he was a pretty large fellow who I would assume could finish a whole sandwich for lunch (Yes, I totally judge him. Sorry, not sorry) so I began to wonder just how large these sandwiches really were. 5 minutes later, I received a brown bag to go with a ginormous sandwich! It was huge! Suitable for 2 people and totally justified the $10 price tag. I was only able to finish half. The bread was nice and toasty. The chicken was thinly sliced and lightly dressed with honey mustard. The creamy avocado went perfectly with it. I saved half for the BF and he ate it this morning - heated up in the toaster oven to get the bread crispy again. We both liked it a lot. He said it was really good and that he wouldn't turn down my suggestions for Ike's next time!
