  • I rented here for about 2.5 years and was just totally disgusted by the place at the end. First off, I had a number of issues with my electric bill being paid. I always paid my electricity on time and I got numerous letters saying that I hadn't paid it and that I'd have to attend a hearing and could bring legal counsel with me. Seriously? I ended up having to make several phone calls each time to get it fixed. Apparently there was some mix-up several times between the management company and the building. Eventually it got to the point where you could pay directly to someone in the building, but this issue illustrates a problem that permeated everything surrounding Panorama -- it was difficult to get anything done. If I had a package come in at the front desk, I would go to pick it up. Often the supposedly 24 hour concierge wouldn't be there and instead there would be one of the security guards who was not allowed to give out packages even if I could see it right there and could prove who I was. Sometimes this would happen during normal business hours and it would literally be hours before the concierge would be back. Additionally, more than one time I was given packages belonging to other people, and once one of my packages was given to someone else. There was a system to sign for packages, but it frequently didn't work correctly, either. They had a system you could get into where they would text or email you instead of call you to let you know about packages, however the majority of the time the concierge wouldn't even look at the system and would call you anyway. Why offer the system if you're not going to actually use it? There were major problems with the pipes and when it was hot (most of the year...) a nasty sewer smell would come up through them. The only way around it was to run water occasionally, but sometimes that would not help. Even if you did run water and take care of the smell, the smell from other units would go throughout the halls and enter your unit. Combine this with the fact that many of the units are unoccupied/foreclosed on and you can't avoid the sewer smell at times. Also, building staff can't or won't enter units without permission, so they won't do anything about the smell, even of unoccupied units. The smells going easily between units also applies to food and drugs. A neighbor moved in who was having very loud parties and smoking pot literally every day, several times a day. Eventually I called and complained about it, but the building staff and security did almost nothing about it. Security asked him to stop and he said no. Building staff told me to call the police, and eventually I did, several times. However, every time the police would call the building security and the building security would tell them there was no problem and turn them away. Talk about negligence. This was the straw that broke the camel's back and I had to move out. If you live here, here's a smattering of other things you can look forward to: *Fire alarm testing that goes on for 2+ hours *Construction going on because the building was not built properly -- there was a lawsuit and they are slowly fixing things, but this means you will be interrupted a lot both inside your unit and in the main building *Difficult to get into/out of on the weekends due to it being gated and the nearby streets being shut down due to some events *People throwing trash/liquids off their balconies -- even if it doesn't get on yours, you may be interrogated by building staff in their attempt to figure out who did it *Window cleaners every couple of months that will wake you up with squeegeeing that is as loud as a gunshot You can easily find better run gated communities with bigger places for half the price in Vegas, because I moved to one (literally paying exactly half for a place that's 25% bigger). Other places may not look as nice on the outside, but they are run far better on the inside. I've lived in better college dorms than this place.
