| - My son is a martial artist who competes in extreme martial arts (XMA)--a variation of his traditional style that allows him to incorporate gymnastic type flips, jumps and tumbling into his performance. My wife and I started bringing him to ASMT to develop and enhance these gymnastic skills. After almost a month we're very happy with the facility and staff, and the progress our son has made.
The facility is large, allowing multiple training sessions to occur at once. The main floor is covered with well maintained and clean pads, and to one side of the main floor is a long spring mat. For use throughout the facility are a number of custom pads and aids the coaches can use to help students learn the basic mechanics of the various stunts.
The coaches our son has worked with have all been great and when time permits, come talk to us after class to provide details for what was covered, things to work on, etc. Very professional.
For parents who chose to wait for their kids, there's a waiting room in the back of the facility with windows that let you watch without all the noise. The office is collocates there as well, along with a small snack bar.
Located at W Cheyenne and N Decatur, the facility is on the west side and in the back of the building facing Decatur, so don't be surprised that you can't see it from the street. Pull in and drive around back to park. The entrance is in the back as well. The parking lot isn't huge but there's always been parking available when we've been there.
For those looking for cheer coaching, or like us, looking for help to improve tumbling and stunt skills, definitely give ASMT a look.
