| - Let me tell you...if you live downtown, or even if you do not, you should venture out to Portland's. Personally, it was convenience that first brought me through the doors, but it was the quality that kept me coming back again and again and again. I think that the best thing about this little gem is the fact that everything on the menu is great, and, here is the kicker, moderately priced. The wine list offers a nice variety and the adult beverage choices (I like scotch when not drinking wine) are right on. Everything is unfailingly fresh and cooked to perfection. The burgers are drool-worthy, the steaks tender and flavorful, the fish light and delicate and the desserts are tasterific. Another element, which places Portland's on the upper echelon of Phoenix restaurants is the fact that the people who work there (this is a shout out to John) are super nice, not to mention intelligent and witty. No yuppy/hipster/elitist nonsense to take away from the dining experience at hand. All in all, if you want fabulous food and a relaxed atmosphere, Portland's is an excellent choice.
