do yourself a favor and take advice from an employee and GO TO A CORPORATE STORE!
This place is right up the street from my job. So i found it to be fairly convenient in handling transactions for my acct. That is until......
I met Larry the employee from hell. Lets be very clear because i want the right employee to receive shame for his conduct not by chance, well... another gentleman who works there name Larry. This young man was slender, low hair cut, dark complexion black male in his mid twenties at best and no more than 5'10.
I came in the store to activate a device i had since i cracked the screen on my current phone. Larry informed me of a $5 fee for a sim card(i was like smh really but ok).The he asked for the phone. I handed it to him and he began to talk about how this phone takes a larger sim card. NOT TRUE. Then he said a smaller sim card. NOT TRUE. Then he said this phone has only 1 sim card slot and they dont carry the size sim it needs.NOT TRUE. i sat there thinking how does my friend and I know more than he does. We should have bailed. My phone was a dual sim which can hold 2 sometimes 3 sim cards and a memory card. Making it a quick swap if i was out of the country and wanted to use my device.
My friend told him the micro sim fits in the second slot and this genius slid it into the larger slot and stuffed it down until it disappeared. Then he looks at me with fear and says "i think it's stuck". I said so what do you plan to do. He says you have to leave the store i called the police. I was like wait..... What! This guy takes my phone, shoves a sim card in the wrong slot, doesn't want to be accountable, gets concerned that i will get upset and wants to have me escorted out by the police. I was fuming!
Let's just recap. he messed up the new phone(brand new). Took my existing sim card out my old phone( refused to insert another sim), then called the police(and i did nothing wrong).
He says to me "I AM NOT GIVING YOU A NEW PHONE!"
I replied i never asked for 1. But you need to remedy this situation somehow because now i have nothing. He refused, my friend who was with me managed to somehow get the guy to put a sim card in my old phone so i would at least have something. The cops showed up and said regardless of right or wrong he called the cops first so he is right and i am banned form the store. Take my broken phone and leave. I am astounded. Where was my resolution, or empathy. NONE. i left very angry and went to another store, a corporate store. and they asked me for names & store #'s because they would be sure to inform people not to visit that location because what they did was extremely unacceptable and they do not treat customers like that. They were able to get the sim card out that the other asshole forced in the phone with a SAFETY PIN!!!! (Thank you so much Alex from the corporate store!) Point being all it took was some patience not trying to pretend like nothing happened and calling the cops on me. I did nothing wrong and this jerk really tried to punish me for his mistake. STAY AWAY FROM HERE-AUTHORIZED DEALER FROM HELL. The corporate store was clear in telling me they don't care who they hire or enforce customer service and ethical behavior like AT&T STORE DO! So i learned my lesson. And i am not letting this go either. I won't until this employee receives corrective action or this store gets media coverage for this horrible experience. I forgot to mention i was 2 hours late from my lunch break because of this whole thing, and the other store was able to do everything i was seeking help with that day. Get proper training for your employees if he will lie about damaging a customers property is that the face you want interacting with people who are coming to do business.. Thanks for nothing Larry.....
