Wanna take a hike, but don't have time/wanna drive up North? Well, Rattray Marsh is your solution!
Great place to visit during Spring/Summer/Fall, Rattray Marsh is located on the south-end of Jack Darling Park. Do not park at the entrance lot, but go south along the driveway, towards the lake where there are a few lots located.
Tip: During the warmer months, it can be difficult to find a spot.
The majority of the path is paved with a wooden boardwalk AND shaded with mature trees. I love that the walk can be a retreat from the blaring sun in the Summer! Most trails either loop back &/or end obviously at a foot of a mature neighbourhood, so you can't really get lost.
Other highlights is a part of the boardwalk that overlooks marshland. And the lovely view of Lake Ontario when you're walking to/from the parking lot.
If you're into bird watching, dust off those binoculars!
