I stopped in here just to browse a few days ago and was appalled by the salesmen. As soon as I walked in I was accosted. I politely told the gentleman that I was simply there to browse and was not looking for anything in particular. He then asked me to follow him to go and get a flyer, and I again politely stated that I did not need a flyer nor any help.
As I looked around, it became clear that this was very poorly made, cheap furniture, and I would never buy anything from there. As I was heading for the door another salesman in a cheap suit accosted me. I again told him I was browsing and not looking for anything. He then stated that "it is my job to help you browse", and I again said that I did not want any help and only wanted to be left alone. He then continued to ask me questions and attempted to engage me.
I abruptly headed for the door before either of them could harass me anymore. I will never step foot back in this place, I don't care how good the deal.
I think that customer service is very important. I expect to be acknowledged, greeted and asked if I need help a few mintes within coming in. Accosting people at the door is not appropriate, nor is continuing to harass them once they tell you they do not want your help.
I certainly appreciate a salesman who is there to help me when I ask for it, however this bordered on stalking.
