  • Called becuase my ac went out girl said its 79 for a service call but would waive it if I did the needed repair. i told her i Had a coupon for free service call. The girl explained that's only if I do the repair needed I said well no point in having the coupon then and was just a way to get me to call them. She did discount it for me though. The guy put me off the first day and tried the second day but I said no more putting it off and he came but acted like I was inconveniencing him. He got here went straight to the coil and used an electronic leak detector that beeps when freon is present and said no point in hooking gauges up because he guaranteed the system was empty. He said I needed a whole new unit within 5 mins and freon is 180.00 a lb (other compaines are around 80 bucks for r22) if I wanted to recharge but would lose all the freon and would waste 1k. Quoted me 6k for New carrier knock off unit told me he didn't work on commission but later said he will take his commission out of the price. I said I need to think about it and he was out the door with in 20 seconds. Had a honest guy come the next day from service experts he found a wiring issue and found a full charge of freon in my system the problem was fixed in 10 mins. Buyer beware and always get a second or third opinion our unit is older but is running great. 6k would of had a huge impact on my family. I will never call or recommend ace.
