One of the first trails I found when moving to Vegas. I was looking for a hike that had a unique destination aspect and the history of this trail fit the bill perfectly.
This is a trail anyone can do with ease as it is flat and has a wide path. The tunnels themselves are fascinating to pass through as they are so huge!
The trail is just past the visitor center of the Lake Mead recreation area so it's a great pit stop to pick up a map and find other trails nearby as well as learn more about the area.
We found a great spot right off the main trail to have a picnic lunch overlooking the lake, the perfect stop on a beautiful day.
When you walk up to the trail be warned that there are signs warning of snakes and sheep during warmer months. Also this trail is gated and closed off during the summer months due to extreme conditions!!
