  • I love going to the Movies. I easily see 25+ movies each year, 90% I see at a Harkins location in Arizona. This new Harkins theatre inside Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale, AZ is absolutely Magnificent. This location shows movies that might be Indie, current documentaries, upcoming Oscar-Buzz flicks, etc. This location hosts the films that may not be 'mainstream' prior to National wide-release. However, my wife & I attended an 11:45 a.m. movie last Friday and price of admission was $14.00 each? The $14.00 adult ticket price really chapped my A$$. The film wasn't an IMAX Film. The film wasn't a 'special engagement'. The film wasn't 3D. There was nothing 'unique' about this film. For Harkins not to offer a 'matinee' price, or, some type of 'discount' for slow-time viewing was a complete surprise. I was shocked. As I mentioned, I see many movies, year after year, mostly at a Harkins location. I was very disappointed to realize how expensive seeing this movie would be. I will continue to see movies. I will continue to support Harkins. However, I will no longer drive 35-40 minutes from my home in East Mesa to this Scottsdale Fashion Square location to see pre-wide release films. Bummer :(
