  • POKER ROOM REVIEW- THE GOOD I came here from the Suncoast for the Friday night tournaments. I must say first of all I love the hotel. Everything from the atmosphere, to the restaurants, movie theater, bowling, kids quest. its all deadly. Parking is awesome, and getting to the hotel is very easy right off the 95....The poker room has in between 12-16 tables with good seating and decent amount of tvs. They also have a lounge area that both me and my girl love dearly. They provide you water and coffee. The poker room is usually busy and packed on Friday and Saturday nights. The crowd is always pleasant and culturally diverse. Lots of action for both tournament and live game play. They let you call in your tournament spot to reserve a seat, this IS AWESOME.... The front lady who runs the tournaments is wonderful (dont know her name but she is very fit and has brown curly hair). I also love the blonde lady with the flat butt and big boobs. She is very helpful all the time. The attire from the cocktail is nice if your a married man with a wandering eye. The management will usually try and accommodate your requests. If you are looking for good tournament play and live North, Northwest, Summerlin and dont want to drive inland then this is the place for you....6PM Start time $50.00 buy in with a $20.00 add on. THE BAD The tournament pay out percentage is pretty crappy. You can get the same amount of pay out from the $65.00 buy in tournament on Sunday nights and the Red Rock with only 3 tables. The lighting is not good for people with some vision problems. It is darker than most poker rooms, I have complained before and im sure I am not the only one, you would figure for about $50.00 a LED can light they could install a couple dozen and let people see the cards. The cocktail service is just awful and slow. Every week it seems that every table I am at someone is complaining about the service of the waitresses. They usually only have 1 person working the poker room on Friday night which will have anywhere from 90-150 people. This is bad management and makes people lose their minds (THIS IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT). after you get knocked out of the tournament they know they are going to have multiple players want to play cash, however the list to play cash is usually 20-30 people deep. I have waited over 2hrs to play cash, this has made me go else where and I go to Red Rock even though I am 3 miles from the Santa Fe. I am sure management will say we don't have enough tables to house more cash games, well that is no excuse, they need to figure it out. That is the only time I will play cash is when I get knocked out of a tournament. The dealers, EYE VEY......I know you hear all the complaints and excuses and groaning from the players, However its still a service job. You could do your job with a little more happiness and make the players feel like you want to be dealing their cards. To be fair, not all dealers are grumpy, but most of them are. AGAIN, TAKE QUE FROM OTHER ROOMS ....IE- RED ROCK, ARIA, ORLEANS...dealers with a smile, its important to me anyway.. I wish they would quit changing the rules as well. some of the desk staff not sure if you can rebuy, they have to ask the boss, he isnt sure, he will just ignore, please get your policies and procedures right. NO 2/5 dollar table on Friday nights????? are you serious?? You should try that out, maybe you have, I know I have heard this complaint from other players besides my self. Try new things out or JENN from the Red Rock will take your players....haha....
