| - "Solo Qui," means Only Here! What a fitting name for a family owned and operated shop that runs this unique Italian Gelato and Bistro. This will definitely be a popular place to enjoy a delicious Italian meal and desserts. I personally felt like I was transported back to Europe. The nice Italian music in the background and the staff speaking Italian really sets the mood.
My foodie siblings and I decided to try a bit of everything they offer. We ordered a Zucchini Lasagna, Red Sauce Pasta and Prosciutto Panini. The lasagna and panini included a side salad. You have the option to get Chips with your Panini too. Our meal was spot on delicious especially the Zucchini Lasagna. It was balanced with a good amount of cheese and Zucchini pieces that were fresh. The pasta itself was layered just right and wasn't over cooked with slight crisp texture on top. The Panini was made just they way we like it and full of flavor especially the texture of the bread. Red pasta was light and balanced with a good amount of red sauce ratio.
Onto the desserts, Solo Qui is passionate about their homemade gelato! From the presentation to the different flavors of gelato will grab your attention. My siblings and I, are big fans of Gelato and this place hits the sweet spot we long for whenever we crave Gelato. I suggest enjoying their Gelato here because they present the gelato in beautiful Murano glass cups imported from Italy. This will definitely draw all the IG fans to this place. There is a wide selection of flavors and combinations of gelato dishes. We ended up getting a Coppa Stracciatella and Coppa Fragola. Coppa Stracciatella had 3 scoops of Stracciatella gelato served with Stracciatella toppings and chocolate chips. Perfect balance of vanilla and chocolate, smooth and creamy! The Coppa Fragola has 2 scoops of strawberry gelato and 1 scoop of vanilla gelato with fresh strawberries and strawberry dip. This was balanced with sweetness and slight tart flavor that gave it a kick. Great for those who love strawberries! Another refreshing item they served is Granitas, flavored iced slushy drinks in 10 different flavors kinda like icees.
Keeping with their Italian roots, Espresso drinks are made with Lavazza espresso beans here. I ordered a Latte Macchiato and this was made with an equal amount of espresso and steamed milk which had a light sweetness and smooth taste. Another dessert that made an impression on us, was a Portuguese dessert called Queijada. It look like an Egg tart but it's more dense and chewy in texture. However, this pastry was garnish with cinnamon sugar. From the first bite till the end reminded me of butter mochi cake that is popular in Hawaii.
Overall, a great addition to the West/Northwest side of town. "Meraviglioso," Gelato Shop and Bistro that will attract a good amount of residents in the area and Yelpers. Until then, "Arrivederci!"
