The original plan was to camp up the mountain but with my parents getting older and everyone actually being adventurous while I was in Vegas visiting for a week, The Resort on Mount Charleston was an excellent place to have common ground.
The place is beautiful the people and the staff was friendly and kind. I'd say the main thing to do there is relax. They have a little bar and the price was fair. We went in at the end of July when the rooms were 50% off so the price was great as well.
I hung out in the bar and on the patio for the most part drinking whiskey and absorbing the few locals that were friendly. All in all my family enjoyed ourselves and I have nothing bad at all to say about this place. Vegas was 103 degrees but on the mountain we enjoyed very comfortable temperatures around 85.
I had a few questions about the deposit and it's release from my credit card that was more of a credit card issue than the resort and found the staff to be very diligent in helping me resolve any questions that I had.
In all I would give this place a 5 rating if the restaurant food was not so expensive or at least had some more variety with some cheaper options. When we checked in we were told appetizers were half off but once we were already sitting down we found out that this was only true if you were sitting at the bar. Family of four ate for $103 but I guess you would need to take off at least $32 for 4 whiskey drinks. The food was very good but as I said before some variety with some cheaper options would have been nice.
I really enjoyed myself and would do it again - or at least leave my parents there while I camp a little higher.
Price Range was Moderate to Pricey and that's because we were there on a promo.
Looks like summer is the best time to go if you are looking to shave some paper of your budget.
