rev:text	I scheduled a relatively last-minute trip to Vegas, and of course all the hotels on the Strip were charging an arm and a leg for the long Labor day weekend. Even the really, really low-budget hotels on the Strip were overcharging. I said, F-that, and went to Priceline to book a good deal. This hotel fell in my lap. Since it was company-paid, I had not stayed anywhere near the LV convention center before when I worked the CES show a few years back. But this place is in a great location for an extended stay. Across the street is the monorail station for quick access to the Strip. I immediately read all the reviews and thought, eh, it'll do for the price I paid. When I asked the front desk person about walking to the Strip, they were sketchy about it and said they'll call a cab. But it's doable. But you want to save a few bucks, like to walk, can tolerate the extreme heat (if in summer), and a few "characters" along the way, it's all good. Total time is about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk. Just go up Desert Inn road and you're instantly transported to the luxurious Wynn and Encore properties. The property itself isn't too shabby, it reminded me of an apartment complex. Plenty of parking available during the day, but filled up during night time. No doubt, this hotel caters to the business crowd, but it's also good for families on a budget. For me, I actually liked coming back to a quiet room after a day/night filled with loud, drunken tourists on the Strip. Pros: decent hot breakfast, waffle maker, free Internet (Ethernet connection, no Wi-Fi), full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, fridge, friendly staff. Cons: loud AC that sounds like a jet airplane taking off, weird but subtle weird smell in the room, pull-out bed from the sofa isn't the most comfortable.
