I started dancing at age 7 which is way before most of the people at this studio was even born. Regardless, that doesn't discourage me from coming to brush up on my tap, funk my jazz, or even cardio my twerk.
Millennium is the pinnacle of mainstream dance studios on the West Coast. Look them up on YouTube and you'll see videos from their LA studio boasting the latest and greatest choreographers and dancers in the industry. That definitely sets precedence on expectation for a new studio.
Starting at a new studio can be intimidating but upon my several phone calls (speaking to Chelsea) and my inquiries in person.. their staff is decent (you have to keep in mind that you're dealing with fellow millennials) and as helpful as can be. Their schedule is posted on their website, facebook, and on the MindBody App (where you can also sign up and pay for classes). Prices are reasonable.. probably a little cheaper than other fitness studios ($65 for 5 classes).
I've done Bodyology as a "break in" to this studio. Shawnta CAN WOOORK. It definitely works you and you'll leave with thighs burning.. definitely recommend for anyone looking for more of a workout vs. choreo/technique. I also took Maricel for beg/int hip hop and she's great. Choreography was on the beginner side but you can up it with your own style.
I plan on taking a Jazz Funk and a Tap class next week and will update then. Those classes seem a little more rigorous.
This is a new studio.. and like most places they eventually build relationships with their "regulars" so don't let that stop you from coming in to try. Classes with no level listed can be assumed as intermediate.
One tip... they should give a "first class free" offer because I think it would entice more people to come and to stay.
