  • I would recommend visiting Liliana's after the sun goes down, because before that it's too bright with the many windows and you don't get to appreciate chandeliers and live candles on the tables. When it's dark out and all the light comes from the inside, this restaurant is beautiful and the sun isn't blinding you, making it hard to enjoy the food. There is a very attractive wine rack taking up a whole wall, a large bar, comfortable waiting chairs, and tables cleverly placed throughout the restaurant. If you can, get a spot in the spacious dining room. It provides a better ambiance than the tables near the bar, where the lighting is harsher and it is more crowded. There are jazz bands playing on many nights (New Orleans style, of course), and they are always spot on, never too loud, adding just the right feel to the ambiance. To start off, get the cornbread, mac 'n' cheese, or both. The cornbread is smooth, moist, and just perfect. I don't even like cornbread, but sometimes all you need is the right preparation. My go-to entrĂ©e at this restaurant would have to be the jambalaya. Perfect mixture of ham, Andouille sausage, bacon, peppers, onions, and tomatoes, And the rice. Not much to say about rice in general. It was the perfect amount of spicy. The one downside to this dish, and, based on reading other reviews, most dishes, is that the shrimp portion is a major letdown. I got one shrimp in my half-order. On a related note, a half-order of most of the dishes is a good size for most people. Whole orders are just too big in my opinion. The only truly negative thing I have to say about this restaurant is the service. Some of the waiters can be inattentive at times and it takes a long time to get your food. I understand that it's busy, but twenty minutes for cornbread? I would recommend this place for a first date or if you're just looking for some good cajun food.
