I've had good experiences with Prantl's in the past but the last time, I was sadly disappointed in both their customer service and the quality of their cake decorating. We ordered a gender reveal cake recently and my husband asked for a cake with pink roses and blue balloons. Kind of a weird combo but since we weren't having a big fancy party or anything, I didn't care too much; however, you would think that a bakery could at least make it look nice. They put two pink roses at the bottom and a couple of blue circles at the top with white squiggly lines all over the place including all over the circles (keep in mind it was white icing squiggles all over white icing). A four year could literally draw better balloons. We kind of just found this part humorous since we're pretty laid back and again weren't having a big party or anything. My biggest issue is that we received ONE sealed envelope from the doctor with the gender inside and gave it to Prantl's to create the cake. From what I understand from EVERY single other person I have spoken to is that when they have done this, the bakery returns the card to the owners with the cake. They would not return our card and first told me they kept them. Then, after I said I wanted it back, they said the baker threw it away. As a pregnant lady who was already super anxious about the big reveal, you can imagine my stress and disappointment over this! One would think it would be common sense to return this to the people ordering the cake. I hope they didn't make a mistake but we had no way of just confirming the gender at all and are supposed to trust that Prantl's didn't make a mistake. Judging by other posters here, I just don't trust them and now have to find time to go to my doctor's office to have them review the sonogram pictures. It's just absurd. I sent them an email which I thought was pretty polite to say "hey, in the future, you probably should return the card..." and nothing. I didn't even complain about the poor decorating in the email. They could at least email back and apologize. I would not recommend ordering a cake from them ever and especially not a gender reveal cake.
