| - So I went back in December or January with my best friend, her sister, and brother in law to get their tattoos done by Joel Parker. First things first, this ship is Christian. Which I absolutely love! I fell in love with Joel's art work and how nice he is. I also noticed how clean they are, which is a good thing to look for when trying to find a good shop. He is super nice and they also pray over you (if you want) before they do the tattoos. Well I just went in on Friday to have Joel finish a tattoo that someone else started because the other person, well it just wasn't working out. Now let me just say this, I live all the way in surprise and I drove all the way to chandler because to me it was worth it. When you like the shop and you like the person, it's worth it to make the drive if you know it's gonna turn out great and you trust the tattoo artist. So anyways I went so Joel could finish/fix the tattoo on my back. Well the guy who started it never finished it and I no longer trusted the person who started it because he never responded to my texts, he never showed me a picture of what he was doing (which yes, was also my own fault) and the second session I had with him(the last time I saw the guy) I hated what he had done to my back. The song lyrics he did looked good but he added music likes which was all curvy and I hated it. It was just the shading. Well Joel and I had discussed adding more or doing a cover up. If I was going to do a cover up he was gonna refer me to one of the other guys. So before I decided I asked him to talk to them to see what they could come up with. Two of the guys he talked to both said that since the shading is so light and that's the only part I don't like, it would be one quick and easy laser removal. So we decided to do nothing to my back and instead I decided to do 3 new tattoos which he bundled for me into $120. An amazing deal I couldn't pass up! The three I got was yadah, the Hebrew word meaning "to lift your hands" on my forearm. My second one was on my arm, right by what they call the ditch (where your arm creases on the inside) and it says "let God". The d is a light grey so it looks like it just says let God but it's let go, let God. And the last one I got is right below my collar bone and it says "saved by grace". Seriously I love them! I'm obsessed. Joel listened to what I wanted and he was patient, as well as he actually showed me before he just put it on me. He didn't just want my money. He put the time and quality into it. I will no go to any other tattoo artist. I will be referring EVERYONE here. Oh and right after he put on the stencils and before he started, he asked if I wanted to pray before we began and of course since I'm Christian, I said yes! I am very pleased with my experience at salt and light and with Joel. Thank you Joel and thank you salt and light! I WILL be back!
